Health and Safety

Farm Safety Week 2021 19th-23rd July – tune in on Monday as we follow Farm Safety Week 2021

Farming remains one of our country’s most hazardous industries; accounting for 1% of workers but 22% of all worker fatalities (HSE).

In order for farm businesses to stay sustainable, health and safety measures need to be put in place and addressed, particularly in the farming community, as dealing with large machinery can often increase vulnerability to those workers.

The Health and Safety Executive has released the official fatal injuries statistics for 2020/21. Note that the 2020/21 figures remain provisional and will be finalised in July 2022. You can access the data here.

Wales Farm Safety Partnership

This Farm Safety Week, the Farm Safety Partnerships (FSP) across Great Britain are supporting the campaign, run by the Farm Safety Foundation, which is this year focusing on how effective risk management and taking preventative measures can go a long way to reducing accidents on farm.
